posted by StevePosted by Steve on December 26, 2003: The second annual Think Tank Christmas Special is available here. It's...different, to say the least.

It started when me and Bob were sitting around talking about comics sometime over the summer. We specifically mentioned how much we liked Marvel's "'Nuff Said" series, which are basically entire comic books without any dialogue. It's really quite impressive. So we figured that might be a cool thing to try some day. So then I had the idea for what ended up being today's comic. It's just sort of a composite of things I've seen and or read about happening during the christmas shopping season, particularly with those who can't keep up with the rush, with our little touch added at the end.

Now, just to bring it up and get it out of the way, after I wrote it I did notice some similarity to the story on Sweatbox. All I can tell you is that I swear it's just coincidence. It's not like I sat down and said "hey, I'll rip off this Rollins story" or anything. It just so happens that some of the stuff on there is the same as the stuff I've seen in retail over the years. I brought it up to Bob and he assured me that it's not that big a deal, (and since he's a full fledged Rollins whore, I trust his opinion on the matter) but I just feel better if I get it out there first, rather than wait for someone to start screaming "ripoff".

So anyway, that's about it. It's just something different that we wanted to try. I know it's probably not what you guys were expecting (I'm told that people assume a comic is going to be, you know, funny) but don't worry, we're not going for some drastic style change or anything. The Retail Avenger story will continue next week. See you then.
