Posted by Bob on August 1, 2003: Hey guys. I'm sure Steve has already covered the comic stuff, so I'll talk about other things. I'm not around as this is being uploaded, so any errors are Steve's and Steve's alone...Yell at him! (Actually, it's really his fault, but he's all about blaming everyone else, so there ya go. When Bob sent me this post, he said "You can format it as you want" so I'm just going to keep breaking in like this, since he's not around to yell at me for it. -Steve)
Anyway, onto bigger things: Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the Xbox. My advice? DO NOT under ANY circumstances buy this game. Trust me on this. If you buy this game, all you will want to do is play it non-stop. It is one of the most addicting games I have ever played. Now, don't think I'm saying this because I have some sort of Star Wars bias, as some comics we have done will lead you to believe. I couldn't really care less about it. But this game...Man oh man. There are so many things for you to do; Tons of quests and a real lot of people to interact with. The coolest thing is that your actions determine whether you are a good guy or a bad guy. If you waste innocent people, or tell people off, you gain Dark SIde points. The more you get, the more evil you become. So of course, my character, Mandar Ein, is following the path of the dark side. People ask you to help them, so they don't transform into monsters, so I say "Maybe I should just kill you now!" And blow em away. Very cool. One of the best games the 'Box has to offer.
I also picked up Henry Rollins in space, or "Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter" as other people would refer to it. Not the greatest FPS ever, but it's pretty cool. And, it's got Rolins, which is a definate bonus in my book. In fact, that's why I bought the game to begin with. (He worships Henry Rollins. He says Rollins is god. And the creepy thing is, I think he's serious. It wouldn't surprise me if Bob has a little Rollins shrine hidden in his closet or something. -Steve)
So Daredevil is out on DVD, and whether you liked it or not (Count me as "Liked it") it's definately worth checking out for the hour long documentary on Daredevil, which has people like Frank Miller, Brian Michael Bendis and Kevin Smith, among others, talking about the Man Without Fear. Very cool stuff. (Says you! No real point to that, just wanted to break in again.-Steve)
Anyway, that's all from me this week. I'll probably be around next week, so hopefully this baby will roll like a well oiled machine. (wouldn't a machine's ability to roll depend more on its shape than how oiled it is? I mean, all the oil in the world won't make a square machine roll. And besides, what kind of machine are you rolling around anyway? -Steve) Or, maybe not, and we can watch Steve screw it up again. Who knows? (The Shadow knows! -Steve)
