By special request, we've created a wallpaper out of the "Simon Belmont" panel in the comic a couple weeks back. Check it out.

Well, I'm afraid I have surprisingly little to talk about this week, and the link well is dry as well. Luckily, Bob's about to ramble on about something or other, and that should fill out the page. So on that note, see you next week.

posted by BobPosted by Bob on May 16, 2003: Well, as I mentioned last week, I did indeed see X2 this past Saturday. The verdict? Well, I'd say it's one of the best, if not THE best comic movie made as of now. If you haven't seen the movie yet, you may not want to read what I have to say, cause I'll might spoil some stuff for ya. You've been warned!

The main thing about the movie is that you don't need to read the comics or even have seen the first X-Men flick to understand this one. Most things are explained pretty well in the movie, and casual fans should be very happy with that.

The best thing about the movie is that Nightcrawler was included. The opening ten minutes or so of the movie is worth the amount you'll have to pay, cause man, it's so cool I can't even come up with the right words. You understand why humans are scared of mutants. And Alan Cumming was fantastic-he does a better German accent than Arnold can. I hope he has a much bigger part in X3.

Speaking of X3, count on there being one. The movie ends with the loss of an X-Man, and in a way that leads to one of the best stories told in X-Men history. If X3 adapts the story, it's gonna be big.

Now, one of the things I don't know for sure about is the character Jason, Stryker's son. The movie was based off the Graphic Novel called "God Loves, Man Kills," which I have not read...I was going to pick it up and read it to see what was up; whether he was created for the film or was around before, but I can't find the book anywhere. And since The Marvel Directory is still down, I don't know what he is. Anyone out there that can help me out, I'd appreciate it. Post in the forums! God knows we could use the traffic...

Okay, I guess I don't have as much to say about the movie as I had anticipated, but still...it's good. Trust me. In other comic movie news, it seems someone has been chosen to play the villain in the upcoming Punisher movie. I'd link his name to a biography, but I take it you have not been living in a cave for years and actually know who the guy is.

It's John Travolta.

Yup, Mr. "I was in Battlefield Earth!" is gonna be the villain in a comic book movie...I mean, it could work...he was good in Pulp Fiction, and he was a bad guy in charge in Swordfish. BUT, he was also the dad in the Look Who's Talking Trilogy, so who knows.

I think I'll be seeing Matrix 2 soon. I didn't get into the first one as much as a great number of other comic geeks, but hey, who knows, maybe I'll like it. I'm sure you all will be the first to know how I feel, cause I've got no one else to talk to....
