Posted by Steve on March 14, 2003:Well, this week's strip begins the long awaited "Scratch Medic" arc. Long awaited by Bob that is, who's been waiting pretty much since the start of this little comic for me to finish the damn thing.
I assume that when we say "Scratch Medic" you all know what we're talking about without me having to name names. They're those little table saw looking things that are supposed to fix the scratches on your cd's, dvd's, games, etc. You know, the one that every store in the fucking world pimps like it's the cure for whatever ails you? Yeah, that one. I swear, the profit margins on that thing must be huge, cause every store I know that carries them forces their employees to push them like their very lives depened on the sales figures of those stupid little things.
As I mentioned earlier, (if you didn't catch it, welcome to the news post) the Scratch Medic arc has been lingering around the script file for as long as there was a script file to linger in. The only problem was that it was lingering in a half finished form, like what I imagine an Resident Evil zombie would look like in text form.
I finally finished the arc (or zombie, if prefer to stay with that analogy) about a month or so ago. Then it became a matter of when to unleash the Scratch Medic arc onto the public, since we're not sure how you guys like arcs. But we figured that if Penny Arcade, who have spent years fighting off continuity, can spend two weeks on Cardboard Tube Samurai, we can do the Scratch Medic arc. We hope you guys like it. I think it's okay, and Bob seems to like it, and we're generally our own worst critics. Except for Bob's mom, who thinks there's entirely too much profanity in these comics. (Sorry Mrs. Dahlstrom, but that's not going to change. I generally curse like a sailor, which means the characters do too.)
In other news, it's been pointed out to me that since both Dpad and Acts of Gord have updated recently, that maybe the "Think Tank Curse", as I've decided to call it, is breaking. To that I say this: Bob and Amanda do a guest strip for Aikida and Aikida misses two updates. FEAR THE EVIL!
In other other news, you know what they say: when you gotta have man boobs, you gotta have man boobs. And since I'm pretty sure I can't top that, I'm just gonna call it a day. See you next Friday.
