Communication Breakdown

Posted by Steve on December 13, 2002: Well, this would have been up earlier, but my internet connection decided to take the night off without notice. Too bad, 'cause we were really on a roll there for awhile. Ah well. As far as the actual strip goes though, it's fairly often that a customer asks us to read them the track listing, especially on cassettes. That's fine. But it's always a cassette full of love songs. Always. And you always feel kind of silly reading the names out loud, 'cause to everyone else in the store, it looks like you're hitting on the customer.

In other news, this is why Slashdot fucking rules.

David Lee Roth is suing Van Halen over royalties. I suppose I'd be more interested in that if I listened to Van Halen but hey, maybe you guys do.

The "Guns N Roses" tour has officially been canceled. That's assuming that you're willing to call Axl Rose and a bunch of nameless fools Guns N Roses. It's kind of funny actually. I started working for the record store back in '97, and every year since I've had people coming up to me claiming there was a new Guns N Roses album coming out. Every year. It's not going to happen folks. Sorry to be the one to break that to you.

Homework for this week is a real easy one. It won't even cost you any money. Homework is to go check out Leave. You've probably never heard of them, but the bass player is the man responsible for the famous Elmo conversation, so you know they're cool. Plus they link to us, and as you all know, people who link to us get chicks. They've even got MP3's for your listening pleasure. So go check 'em out.

I don't have a ton of stuff to say, so I'll just make it quick for now. First of all, I have a cam page! Click right here, and away we go.. I am, appropriately enough, Think Tank Bob. Also, check out page 3. There's this girl named Panda, and she's really nice to look at...

Check this out. It's a weird little game where you get to beat up Andrew W.K. Only problem is that you are Andrew W.K. Ah well, ya can't win em all.

Everyone reading this, go check out the movie Insomnia. It's got Robin WIlliams as a bad guy, Al Pacino as the good guy, and is directed by Christopher Nolan, who directed the incredible Memento. You know, go and see that too. It's the best movie of 2000.

Also, I see that I have not updated my site, the Fields of Illusion in just about 3 months. I haven't given up on it, but this comic sucks up almost all my time for drawing. I'm working in a Captain America picture, and It'll be done eventually...hopefully before the end of the year, but I make no promises....sorry!
