Posted by Bob (bob at screenfreeze dot net) on March 2, 2007: As you might expect, we have a comic up for you to (hopefully) enjoy. Funny thing about this comic is that I totally screwed up in panel six. As you can see, the last three panels are a copy and paste job. I hate to do that, but sometimes the script just calls for it, you know? Anyway, I copied and pasted those panels, colored the whole thing, shaded it, resized it, lettered it, called it a day, as it normally goes. Then, I noticed that I had completely forgotten that the thing rips (I'm being purposefully cryptic so I don't spoil the comic before you read it, heh,) in panel five. So the way I had it, it magically repaired in panel six. I don't know how I missed that, but I ended up fixing it in Illustrator of all programs, and we have the comic you have in front of you now.
Oh, and I don't know why the car and the lamp post cast shadows, yet the trees do not. Shut up.
Let's start the links with this. Awkward! What a jackass.
So, I suppose the first question is "Will Arnold come back for Terminator 4?" But I think the even better question is "Do we really need a Terminator 4?" The third one was mediocre at best. I think most people would agree that they could have very easily ended the series at 2, and no one would have complained. Cause man, Terminator 2 was a fucking great movie.
Here's a crazy huge picture of the World Trade Center after the attacks. It's been almost six years and I still can't get enough of that shit. Any time I see an article linked, I read it. All the crazy conspiracy theory movies online? Seen 'em all. It just really intrigues me, I dunno.
've got two countdowns for you today by way of Double Viking. Up first, there's the silly badass list. You all know Ash from Evil Dead will be number one before you check the list, right? Well you're wrong, because it's not a numbered countdown. But, he is the last one listed, so I guess I'd give that one to you. My favorite part of the list is the reasoning for Wolverine.
Up next, there's the top 100 fictional male role models list. I'll spoil it for you and tell you that the #1 male is Han Solo. Not a bad choice, but I don't know if I'd go that way. Although admittedly, I've never been a huge Star Wars fan.
Okay, two lists, now how about two games? Up first is Winterbells, which you will absolutely hate if you don't like happy music and cute bunnies.
And since that might not be your thing, here's another Pandemic game. In this one, you again are creating a virus to kill all of mankind. It's similar to the last one I linked to, but this one is a bit more interactive.
Well, that's all the links I have for this week, so I think I'll talk a little about Crackdown. So far, it's really fun, but I have a couple problems with it. Mainly, the boss fights are really anticlimactic. I was playing earlier, and the guy I was fighting had a grenade launcher. So I charged at him and shot his arm so he'd drop the gun. Then I shot him in the leg and he fell. Then I stomped him a whole bunch of times until he died. The end. That was it. That was a boss fight. Pretty sad. My other problem is that as you kill the gang leaders, there's less and less gang members running around. So at first, there's bad guys everywhere. But right now, I'm at the point where all that's left of Los Muertos is the Kingpin, so there's no bad guys. Anywhere. Which kinda sucks. But I've still got two gangs left, so there's hope. There's some really cool stuff in the game too, though. For starters? The jumping. It's just badass to jump off a roof, pick guys off that are 50 feet below you while you're in midair, and land on a roof three buildings over. It's also kinda cool to just stand in the street, say, on a bridge, and let a car drive straight at you, then kick it right before it hits you, knocking the car into the water below. Also, to pick up a loaded gang member's car and throw it at another car full of more gang members? Badass. So overall, I'd say Crackdown is a game worth checking out. Let's hope that it stays that way as I progress further.
