posted by BobPosted by Bob (bob at screenfreeze dot net) on February 23, 2007: Today's comic, much like last week's, was originally written by me and then reworked a bit by Steve. See, originally, the comic involved Bob, and when Link asks why there are no posters, Jessie says "Oh, I blame that on bad store planning, myself," and then she glares at Bob for a silent panel. Which is pretty much the reason why there's nothing on the walls. I designed the store, and it just stays pretty stark, most times. I used to copy and paste all sorts of shit in there, but it just got to be too time consuming. Plus, this way the comics (hopefully) won't feel too dated years from now.

Let's get onto the links. First up, I have a video from Screw Attack via The Last Boss of the top ten secrets in video games. The Altered Beast one was pretty cool, I had never heard of that before. Pretty good list, I was surprised the Konami code wasn't number one.

What the hell, how about another list? Here's the top ten most misunderstood movies ever made. I think everybody oughta read the one for Scarface. Everyone fucking loves that movie, but it's really not that good.

How about some more movie stuff? Here's some movies that should have won an academy award, but didn't. I'm with pretty much all of them, except for the Jaws/One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest one. I love both of those movies, but I'd definitely go with Cuckoo's Nest over Jaws.

Now here's a great video. Someone took a bunch of quotes from James Earl Jones and dubbed them over Star Wars. It's a pretty funny story about Darth Vader just falling apart. You gotta like a video where Darth Vader says "Hey, y'all mad at me, right?" or "Daddy is the breadwinner, know what I'm saying?"

God damn it, where was this site years ago? I only learned how to correctly spell it when I was hand lettering the comic, because I'd have to look it up to make sure I was spelling it correctly.

Haha, even senior citizens love them some Wii Sports. I gotta admit, that out of the four games I have for the Wii, Sports is easily the most played of the bunch. I picked up Wii Play, and for a 50 dollar game, it's not too hot. But as a ten dollar game that comes with a 40 dollar remote, it's pretty fun. I gotta justify it somehow.

Microsoft is adding some more games to the Platinum hits lineup. Looks pretty good, I've already finished COD2, but I could see myself picking it up to play through again sometime. Actually, except for Burnout and G.R.A.W., (already have those,) and DOA4, (just don't care,) I could see myself picking up all those games. And if they're 30 bucks new, then used they've gotta be near the magic 20 dollar price.

So, this guy goes to the circus. He shoots two clowns and they die. The end.

Damn it! I never was good at telling jokes.

And that's that. I'm done. Well, except for one thing, prepared specially for Steve. He likes that sorta thing. Back in a week, gang.

posted by BobPosted by Steve (Steve at screenfreeze dot net) on February 23, 2007: I'm not sure what to say about this comic, seeing as how as of this moment I'm not sure how it ends. We've gotta hash that out still. Details, you know?

Things in Vista land, while not perfect, aren't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Yes, user account controls are annoying. Yes, most people will probably just turn them off. I did. Sound card situation is still a bit of a mess. Creative won't have a final X-fi driver out till march, and who knows for the rest of their cards. A lot of their stuff looks like it's not getting drivers. How unlike them! Ask a Mac user how their Soundblaster card is working.

Overall, my opinion is still pretty much the same. There's some neat eye candy here and there, but there's nothing that really blows you away. Things are a bit rocky right now, but if you have a computer that can handle it, give it a month or so for drivers to catch up, install it on a clean partition (upgrade takes ages and gave me some weird errors after install) and see if you like it. Otherwise, there's really nothing there that's that different from XP. See you next week.
