Posted by Bob (bob at screenfreeze dot net) on January 7, 2007: I tried doing some little things differently with today's comic. I know, I know, that must come as a giant surprise to all of my loyal readers. "Why would you change things? Why do you always change things?" Because I'm a stupid man, if you must know. Anyway, I went with some of those widescreen panels that are oh so popular in comic books nowadays. I gotta say, I like the look. So don't be surprised to see that happen again. I changed the coloring a little bit, and actually used some highlights! Gasp! Eventually, I want to get away from the cel shaded type of shading I do and do it a little more painterly...I tried it before and it didn't really work, but I've got some new ideas to mess around with. So we shall see.
I don't have much input about the way this comic came about. Steve wrote it and sent it to me. While I do hate it when shit like this happens to me in real life, this particular comic is based on a real life story from Steve, so I'll leave it to him to describe.
But that'll have to come after my cavalcade of links. First up, I've got a bunch of awesome pictures from an abandoned amusement park. By now, you should know that I love looking at pictures of abandoned places, be it Chernobyl or a big empty mall or even a jungle habitat. I really can't explain why, I just think those kinds of places are neat.
You all know what goatse is. I really don't have to explain it to you. That being said, here's a great storyabout how a man willingly unleashed goatse on Myspace. It's so perfect.
This site should give you something you want to play. I mean, it's games from almost every major old game system. There's gotta be something there you'd want to play. Unless you're me. For some reason, they don't really seem to care for Safari, and things don't work to well. Let's see what Firefox does.
Okay, that seemed to work a little bit better. Yes, emulators work better as these are all based in Java, but it's at least a distraction while you're at work or something.
Ever find a bug and wonder "what the hell is that?" If you're a crazy person like me, then yes you have. Well, I have the site for you. I give you What's that bug dot com! Hopefully you will find it useful, but even better, it will make your skin crawl a little.
Check out this picture. On the left is Tekken 6 at E3. On the right is actual gameplay. What a difference a year can make, eh?
And well, that's all I've got. So I will leave you with a countdown of the top ten FX scenes in movies. See you in a week, gang.
