posted by BobPosted by Bob (bob at screenfreeze dot net) on December 15, 2006: Today's comic is brought to you by way of the mighty Marvel Method. In fact, as I write this post, I don't have a script yet. I have a rough idea of what happens in the comic, but as far as the words? I have no idea. Basically, this comic came about because we really didn't have any ideas for this week, so Steve said "just draw something, we'll work it out." Yeah, thanks. So this is what I came up with. I'm glad he didn't ask me what it was about while I was working on it, cause I feared if I said it was about "Tits, the devil and a window" he would have said "All right, time for a new artist."

I don't know why I always write comics based on things I can not draw. Cars, kids, sexy girls...It's always a problem.

So, if anyone out there is thinking about upgrading to HD-DVD, I found this page which has some comparison shots from Lord of the Rings. Personally, I think if I were to go with an HD-DVD, I'd just get the add-on drive for my 360, and then buy new movies for that, and when I want something to watch somewhere else where I'd need a regular DVD, just rent it from Netflix. Maybe somewhere down the line. I don't know if I need it right now though.

Who am I kidding. Now that the idea is in my head, it'll eat away at me and I'll be at Best Buy Friday buying the HD drive.

This headline just seems like a joke to me. "World's tallest man saves dolphin." Although I think if you throw "World's tallest man" at the beginning of anything it'll come out sounding goofy.

You know all those goofy videos I post here all the time? Well, good ol' iFilm has made a handy countdown of the best viral videos of 2006! Relive the magic of Connie Chung singing, or the man with the greatest mustache on People's Court. Ah, it's been a great year. I can't wait until '07!

Here's a kind of neat looking mp3 player. I guess it's the company's first mp3 player that'll be released in the states. How much you want to bet it outsells the Zune? I think the one mistake they've made so far? The Vibez player isn't made in a nice brown color.

Speaking of mp3 players, did you ever wonder if it would blend? Well, there's your answer.

I swear to god, if I ever have to fill out an exit interview, this is just how I want to go out.

You can say what you want about Bob Saget, but apparently, Danny Tanner is not gay. I really hate myself for having been a fan of that show. If an episode comes on now, I still can remember what happened. Hell, sometimes I can remember the lines. It's a sickness, I tell ya.

Here's a good video showing how bad the PS3's backward compatibilty can be. You know, they make such a big deal about backward compatibility on systems, and I gotta say, to me, it means nothing. I haven't played a PSone game on my PS2, I haven't played an Xbox game on my 360, and I can't see myself playing any Gamecube games on my Wii. It's just not an issue for me. I keep everything hooked up, I have no need for backwards compatibility.

So, last week I posted a few re-cut movies, this week I have a re-cut TV show. Behold, Seinfeld: The horror movie!

One thing you can't get enough of is reliving terrible things of the 80's. So here you go, 50 commercials from the 80's! There's more on the site if you look around a little bit. They're all titled, appropriately enough, "50 commercials from the 80's" or something similar. Man, I forgot all about the Encyclopedia Britannica dickhead. I hated those commercials. Make sure you watch the Pringles one too. It's fucking golden.

I don't have the game Rollercoaster Tycoon, and it's probably a good thing I don't. I have a feeling that if I did, I'd never get anything done, because I would be making all sorts of terrible scenarios like this. And with that, I will call this a post. Be back in a week, gang.

posted by StevePosted by Steve (steve at screenfreeze dot net) on December 15, 2006: While I'm happy with the way the comic turned out in the end, this was probably the worst writing session we've had in nearly five years. It was 1 A.M. Tuesday, and we had nothing. Absolutely nothing. With nothing else to do, I essentially told Bob "just draw something and I'll make up some dialogue." So there you have it. I think it's a bit dirty compared to what we normally do, but, of the three or four versions I wrote, Bob thought this one was the best. Since he did pretty much all the work on this comic, I figured he should have the final say on which script we use.

One more final to go, and then the semester is over. After Monday, I'll have a whole month with nothing on the agenda but the new Zelda. And maybe writing a script or two.

Maybe.

See you next week.
