posted by BobPosted by Bob on September 29, 2006: Hey gang. This week's comic is probably as close to a political cartoon as we're ever gonna get, heh. You gotta love how people can spend so much on designer coffee but yet bitch about gas prices. I'm allowed to pick on them, as I don't drink coffee or bitch about gas prices, so therefore I am a better human being. Yep. That's exactly it.

Oh, and by the way, if you deal with a woman in retail who never takes off her sunglasses, there's a 99% chance she's gonna be a bitch. The other 1% are blind. It's true. Trust me.

I did something different with this comic (SHOCK!) than normally...Instead of shading it in Photoshop with the cut style I've been using, I brought it into Painter and painted the shadow stuff so it'd look a bit more natural. I'm not not entirely sure if I like how it turned out...I'll have to practice it for a bit, and if it works, provided a full comic doesn't take 6 days to finish, (this way definitely takes a bit longer,) I may end up doing it this way with the comic from here on out. Who knows!

Here's a neat site to test your drawing ability using your mouse. Basically, you are shown a picture and you have to draw it in four seconds. It's going kind of slow at the moment, but I think that might be because it got Dugg. Still, something kinda neat to keep you busy for a little bit.

This week's top ten countdown? The top ten Weird Al videos! Awesome. I did check out the new Weird Al album, and I've discovered the main problem with it. When he parodies songs, I have no idea which they are anymore. I don't listen to the radio or watch music tv or anything, so I am so out of touch with current popular music it seems like I'm a 70 year old man. But still, he's always worth listening to. Or watching, in this case.

Unless you're a Mac user, here's another Web TV site to check out. Free HBO, Cartoon Network, Comedy Central...Can't vouch for how well it works, being on the Mac right now and all, but maybe it'll be some use to someone.

Here's an interesting story with Keith Olbermann taking a look back at Bush's first few months in office before 9/11. It's pretty heavy stuff, but worth checking out for sure.

I'm sure you all wonder what would happen if you dropped 50 pounds of Silly Putty from the 7th floor of a building. Well my friends, WONDER NO MORE! You gotta love crazy scientists who have nothing better to do.

Who doesn't like free shit? Well, this link's for you. It's a list of all the free shit you can get from iTunes. Woo!

So, you know what else is free? Next week's comic. How about we come back here when it gets posted, and we'll see what else I've got for the twelve of you. Deal?

posted by StevePosted by Steve on September 29, 2006: I don't mean to start trouble. Really, I don't. I have no doubt that there are people who get a serious budget hit when gas prices go up. Single parents going back and forth from work, school, daycare, and home. Families already struggling to make the rent. An extra quarter or two a gallon really does add up for some people.

That being said, if you have any of the items that our friends in the comic have, you are in fact not one of those people.

By the way, we left brand names out of it, but all those prices are basically accurate for those items. We looked them all up. Well, I couldn't find a listing for coffee online, but I'm guessing six bucks is about right. And I'm not entirely sure if Bob actually researched the price of breast implants. I didn't really want to ask.

That's all I've got. See you next week.
