posted by BobPosted by Bob on July 28, 2006: As we've seen in the past, Steve is afraid of bugs. Spiders as well, but most definitely bees and hornets. I'm not one hundred percent sure, but I'm willing to bet we can add wasps into that list as well. If I remember correctly, some of this comic was based on a real life story. Steve says a lot that I don't listen to however, so I may just be making all this up. Anyway, if there is a story behind this, then just look a few paragraphs lower, and you'll see.

*NERDY ART TALK AHEAD* One art note about this comic, I changed the way I shade the characters. Normally, I just go with a shade darker than the base color, and when I shade skin add some red to it, to make it look a little bit warmer. For this comic, (and the next comic, cause it's already done, heh,) I actually used some of my knowledge of color theory (Erik, even if I did sleep through some of the lectures, I followed them,) and went with contrasting colors for shading. It makes the skin look a bit cooler, (cause it's got more of a bluey tint to it now,) but I think it looks good. At least, for now. If there's one thing that's constant about my artwork it's change, so god only knows if it'll still look this way in a month. *END NERDY ART TALK.*

So, I saw Clerks 2. Pretty good movie. Definitely a better way to wrap up the View Aksewniverse than Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back was. Well, if indeed this is the last movie he's doing with this crew. I was talking to Steve about them, and I ranked them as follows: 1. Clerks 2. Mallrats 3.Chasing Amy 4. Clerks 2 5. Dogma 6. Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I think Clerks is fantastic, and Mallrats takes number two just based on Jason Lee alone. I thought he was great in that flick. Same for Chasing Amy. Clerks 2 falls to 4, mainly because I haven't seen it a million times like I have the others. I have a feeling the more I see it the more I'll like it. Dogma ends up at 5 because I hated Linda Fiorentino, and they cut the best scene of the movie. (Lee's "Evil is an abstract" scene.) And Strike Back? Well, that one was just a mess. So anyway, point is, Clerks 2 is good. You should all go see it.

Okay, if I ever go to New York for something, I am SO making sure I get to the Nintendo store. It looks fun as hell. I'd love to take a look at all the old Nintendo stuff on display.

I'm not entirely sure why you'd want to, but hey, since you can find anything on the internet, now you can make yourself a ring out of a dime. It'd probably be easier to just buy a plain silver ring, but I guess this'd be a lot cheaper.

You know what my post has been missing so far? Shots to the nuts. There we go. Fixed that up nice and quick.

How about a movie quiz? I haven't seen many of these lately, and I could only get 13 on this one. I'm disappointed, I usually do better than that.

Speaking of disappointments, how about this newspost? Man, I couldn't find anything good to link to. Hopefully Steve will pick up the slack this week.

posted by StevePosted by Steve on July 28, 2006: This week's comic was sort of based on actual events in the store. There really was a bee in the store but surprisingly, I wasn't the one to freak out about it. The other employee did before I had the chance.

A quick note about the title: I guess that's a movie. However, I've never seen it. I just remembered seeing that title somewhere. So if the film sucks, don't blame me.

Some news about last week's Call of Duty questions. I've gotten word from a very trusted source (and by "very trusted source" I mean "only person who mailed me about it") that "Ivanovich" would have been Alexei's middle name, in a way. Since that sounds vaguely familiar, I guess we'll go with that.

Man, I finally get really into a PC game, and I've got to take it to the shop. I really want my computer back.

No links from Bob, eh? I swear, I have to do everything around here.

Man, I swear I've linked to this before. (*grin*)

A movie studio using creative accounting to hide profits and cheat actors and directors out of their fair share? Choke on your lies!

One more thing before I go. You guys should check out A Night at the Village Vanguard by Sonny Rollins. If I knew of more jazz that was this lively, I wouldn't think of it as that boring elevator stuff my mom listens to.

That's all for now. See you next week.
