posted by BobPosted by Bob on May 19, 2006: So, I would like it to be known that today's comic in no way, shape or form endorses that godawful movie. You know which one I'm talking about. I don't even have to mention it by name. I just figured that was the kind of shirt stupid kids wear, so why not make this stupid kid wear one too? I think it's up there with Office Space and the episode of Seinfeld where the reporter thinks Jerry and George are gay as far as references I want to see just go die. Yes I saw Office Space. Yes, it was funny. But hearing the same jokes from it for the seventeen millionth time? Not as funny as you'd think anymore.

Oh, the comic. I guess it's a true story. Steve did this. Well, I think he did. When he talks I rarely pay attention, so maybe he was talking about something else. I dunno, I'll let him handle this one.

I don't know how many history geeks we have reading here, but here's a great link for you. It's an archive of historical sounds, (speeches, news, etc) all in mp3 format. So if you ever wondered say, what they said when Hitler died, that's the place to check. Interesting stuff. Really! I love these types of things!

So, Sony has announced the price of the PS3 in the UK. These people are insane! It cracks me up that the Sony people keep saying things like "I don't think it's an expensive machine; I think actually, it's probably a cheap machine ... If you think a Blu-Ray player by itself might be GBP 600-700, and we're  coming in at just GBP 425 - it's a bargain." Yeah, cause EVERYONE wants a Blu-Ray player. Does Sony not remember Beta? Or Minidisc? People are attatched to DVD. We don't want to have to buy all our movies again for mildly better picture that you can't even notice without an HDTV, which most people don't have. I would really like to see Nintendo dominte this go round again. I really would.

Myspace is a waste of time? Gasp, look at the shock on my face. I hate to admit it, but I am on myspace too. Mainly because some of my friends refuse to use emails and instead only communicate through that site. I think it really should be shut down, as it seems more harm has come from it than good. But what the hell do I know, right?

Here's one of those flash games I always link to. I really like these simple games. Simple games for a simple man. Sounds good to me.

And with that, I'm calling it a night. I don't have any other good links that I can think of at present. So, I'll be back in a week.

All this talk about forcing retailers to enforce game ratings doesn't really bother me. I'm more than old enough to buy whatever is out there, and if that's the compromise that avoids M rated games just not getting made at all, so be it. Plus, if I get to tell some kid he can't play a cool game and ruin his day, that's a nice little bonus.

Oh, and the comic isn't really based on a true story. I mean, I do turn kids away who try to buy M rated games, but that's about it.

Also, please note that I was strongly against the Vote for Pedro shirt. If you like that movie, more power to you, but I just thought it was pointless. It's barely a movie really. Bob had some theory that it's something a dumb kid would wear, but I was still against giving the movie any sort of recognition. I just wanted to defend myself on that one.

That's about it. See you next week.
