posted by BobPosted by Bob on May 12, 2006: So, we've got another Metal Gear Solid 3 comic up today. You'd think Steve and I are playing it constantly, but the funny thing is that we most definitely are not. We both picked up Subsistence when it came out. I got right to the part where (Um, spoiler warning, maybe? -Steve) and Steve just ended up playing Metal Gear Solid 2 again. And then...Nothing. I ended up with a 360 and Steve went back to baseball, I think. Although I wouldn't put something like Tony Hawk 2 past him.

You know, looking at it, this really isn't a Metal Gear comic so much as it's a comic showing how crazy Steve is. This was an actual conversation we had. I am Link, he is Steve. He has a thing with spiders, as he has discussed in the past. The bee/hornet thing was new to me. But not surprising, really.

FUCK do I hate linking to the jurassic era comics. That art is so embarrassing.

So yes, E3 has happened. Now, I know there's lots of sites that cover everything that happens there, so I'm just gonna leave you with them. I don't have all the access to the behind the scenes info and news. I've just got a keyboard and some opinions. All I can say is that 1. I'm not impressed by the PS3. and 2. The Wii looks fan-fucking-tastic. I think Nintendo is really gonna do a great job on this one. I will post this, which I read at Gamespot. "Set in a science-fiction war zone, Warhawk is the first game to make public use of Sony's own kinetic controller, which mimics the Wii device. Unfortunately for Sony, the admission by one of the Warhawk developers that his team got its hands on the new controller less than two weeks ago reinforced the impression that Sony only added motion-sensitive technology at the last minute in a hasty attempt to match Nintendo." Kinda funny, eh? Not a shock though. Sony's business model is pretty much just look what works for other people and copy that. But when you come up with a system that causes this kind of behavior, you have to imagine people will copy you.

What the hell, I'll continue the Nintendo love fest with a video for Super Paper Mario. What do you think Steve? We gonna be getting that one?

And now we have this article, in which SCEA president Kaz Hirai actually said "What we're presenting to consumers is future-proofed. It's not going to fall by the wayside." Umm...HUH? The PSone is done, the PS2 is soon to be done. You can't make a game console and say it's "future proofed." They will always try to make things faster and better with graphics and sound and all that. That's just the way things go now a days. The only system that wasn't updated before it needed to be was the NES. Everything else has just been "Yeah, what we have is good but LOOK AT OUR NEW SYSTEM!"

Ever get those "I'm a Nigerian prince and someone was assassinated and I can only trust you, yes you, with my millions" type of emails? Here's an interesting article about them. This guy really got fucked on this. So, just in case you weren't sure, I'll say it here in italics. Those emails are ALWAYS scams. DO NOT think you're gonna make that money!

All right, kind of a short post this week again, mainly because every site I frequent is all E3 all the time right now, so I'll leave you with some more stuff about the Wii. Why? I don't know, why the hell not? Anyway, back in a week, gang.

Inventory counts suck. See you next week.
