Posted by Bob on February 17, 2006: Hey all. The new comic is here. Now, I know what you're saying. The Dreamcast was put to rest a long time ago. Yes, that's right, we here at Think Tank HQ have our thumbs on the pulse of the world. Topical like a mother fucker, one might say. But this comic is actually based on real life, as I finally packed up my Dreamcast and put it in the closet. I know, I know. But it's really easy to get to and my DVD recorder has AV jacks on the front, so it would be no problem at all to hook it back up. It was just the right thing to do...my entertainment center was looking really cluttered, so I consolidated.
Actually, truth be told I haven't played much of anything as far as video games go lately. The last thing I picked up was...either Infected for the PSP or Guitar Hero for PS2. I'm relatively sure Guitar Hero was first. (Game of 2005, by the way.) The only thing I ever play is Burnout for the PSP which I pick up for maybe ten minutes a day. There just isn't anything I really want to play out right now. It's sort of that weird time between the transition from current gen to next gen where nothing really good is coming out. At least, not that I can think of. The only games I've been looking at are GTA for the PSP and Lumines, also for the PSP. Neither one of them is really a new game. Ah well. We'll see what I can find.
Oh, and I promise before I ever draw characters hugging again, I will shoot some reference so it looks like actual people hugging. I don't know what happened in this comic. I had to get the whole thing done in a very short time and on top of that my trusty mouse crapped out on me. Next week hopefully will be back to the same mediocre standard I've set for the last 207 comics.
The broken heart word balloon has to be the most emo thing I've ever drawn. I love it.
I'll start the links off with this. You've probably already seen it before, but if not, there you go. I guess it's a step dad playing a prank on his stepson. Ahh, traumatizing children for life. Good times, good times.
Here's a pretty good article from the Reggie about Nintendo's strategy for the future. Not a bad read.
Why do I get the feeling that this kid is gonna get the Star Wars Kid treatment? Just a hunch.
So, I've become a giant Google Earth nerd in the past few weeks. I found this page that's got some goofy things you can find in it. I haven't found anything spectacular yet...just an airplane midflight. Nothing terribly exciting.
This game isn't too bad. I have trouble with the controls, but that's cause I can't handle the mouse/keyboard combination. I'm a console gamer.
Well, that's really all I've got this week. Kind of a slow week for cool links, sadly. Ah well. Maybe next week will be different.
