Posted by Bob on January 13, 2006: Well, it seems that finally, finally, the gang may finally get to see Henry Rollins. It's been quite a journey. But it seems like we're almost there. OR ARE WE!?!?
Yes. Yes we are. Anyway, some art notes on this one. Panel 2 and 3 show Steve parallel parking. I can't do it, so I don't know if I can draw it so it looks right. It looks right to ME, but to people who can do it, you may wonder what the hell that's supposed to be. In panel 8, Bob is hanging off the parking meter. It's something I do in real life, so of course Bob does it in the comic. And except for panel one, I drew all the backgrounds for this comic in Photoshop. Why? I don't know, why not? It seemed to work out well, and I don't think it took longer than usual, so I may end up sticking with it. But I've said that about different art things here before that never happened, so who knows.
Oh yeah, this comic is based on a true story, by the way. When Steve, Amanda and I went to see Henry the last time he was in town, Steve was just shocked that you couldn't get three hours out of a two hour parking meter. Your writer, folks.
So, apparently, Steve Jobs had more to say during his MacWorld keynote that he couldn't talk about. I don't know how true it is, but it seems plausible. Anything is possible, right? (A blog, hosted on tripod, citing an anonymous source? You'll have to forgive me if I'm a bit skeptical. -Steve)
Someone should buy me a new iMac, by the way. I'll trade you my eMac for it. And possibly even my Compaq Presario laptop too. For real!
As we all know, I love when people do new versions of old video game music. So imagine my glee when I found this, which is not only a new version of Punch Out music, but also includes a live action Punch Out! Fantastic.
Here is a fantastic article about video games. It's a long read, but it's definitely well worth the read. Trust me!
And since I'm linking video game stuff, how about another comparison of Japanese cover art vs American cover art? We really got shafted with Psi Ops. Backyard Wrestling probably would have sold more with that cover too.
So, Google Earth is finally available for the mac. I've played around with it for a bit, and it is as addictive as promised. But I also found this page that has lots of neat places as seen on Google Maps. I'm a dork, but I think this stuff is really interesting.
Well, I've got a lot of work to do so I'm gonna call this a post here, but before I go, check out this movie from Scare Tactics. I still haven't seen this show since I linked to a clip from it last time, but I know I really need to. So with that, I will head off, and be back in a week.
