Posted by Bob on October 28, 2005: All right gang, our annual Halloween comic is up. This was originally going to run a couple weeks ago, but we ended up deciding it would make more sense to hold off and just use it as a Halloween comic. Of course, we decided this after I had pencilled the whole thing and inked like, half of it. So back to the board I had to go. Funny note about this comic. Two years ago Steve and I were trying to decide on what to dress the gang up as. I suggested horror movie characters, but Steve said "No, it's been done." So this year, we're going back and forth on what to use, because I didn't want to go with Ghostbusters like Steve wanted, because then everyone would look the same. After a while, Steve says "How about horror movie characters?" So I jumped on that. The moral of this story? If I'm patient enough, I will end up winning in the end. Go me!
Here's a good article about why we quit playing video games, even if you like the game. Not because you finished the game, but just...because. Hell, I've done the same thing with the same game mentioned in the article. Though, to be fair, the only reason I stopped playing Burnout was because I picked up Ultimate Spider-Man, X-Men Legends 2 and the Warriors. I finished USM and XML2, but am not far enough into The Warriors to drop it yet. Pretty good game though. As was XML2. Ultimate Spider-Man though...In hindsight, it's not worth the fifty bucks. The game is really short. It looks neat, but the gameplay isn't anything new. I really dug the cutscenes, and FINALLY Spider-Man is funny in a game again. Not being voiced by dopey is a plus too.
And how about some Office Chair Apocalypse! I think my favorite part is the dude in blue that just starts laughing and falls to the ground, not helping the guy in the chair, err, the guy on the ground. That would so be me.
Ever thought you were safe to do stupid things in stores because the security camera footage wouldn't make it online? Well, not at Best Buy!
No no no, make the bad man go away, he's not my president, please tell me that I'm dreaming!
In the Halloween spirit, here's some pictures from scary movies. I wish they were actually labeled or something...But it's the best I've got. Even better would be a game. Like the movie games I've linked to in the past. You just have to guess them all, that'd be fun.
Scare Tactics? WHY HAVE I NEVER HEARD OF THIS SHOW BEFORE? Wow, that looks fantastic. I gotta remember to look for this one.
I told you all before, I love it when newscasters fuck up.
Well, that's all I've got, so I will leave you with the best of Quagmire. Back in a week, folks!

Posted by Steve on October 28, 2005: That's right, it's time for the annual Think Tank Halloween comic. This was originally just an ordinary comic that I wrote after watching Halloween, but then I decided to save it and make it the Halloween comic, mostly because I'm lazy like that. We had a bunch of different ideas before going with the Monster/Slasher costume theme. The whole process was probably more difficult than it should have been, but all's well that ends well, I guess.
With that out of the way, I move on to far bigger news.
I could talk about how the Sox pitching was awesome. (It was) I could talk about how Uribe's catch in the 9th was one of the best I've ever seen. (It was.) I could talk about how Pierzynski is one of those players you hate unless he plays for your team. (He is. I couldn't stand that fucker when he was with the Twins.) I suppose I could even talk about the low TV ratings. (You guys missed a great series. Each game was close, well played and could have gone either way. And a note to MLB: can we start the games a little later next year? Surely you can push the first pitch back to, say, Midnight?) Instead, I'll talk about me, my dad, and goofy superstitions.
My dad refuses to wear any Sox gear during a game. He'll wear a Sox shirt all day, then change it just before the game starts. He says they always lose if he's wearing team gear. I'd point out that that means they've also probably lost quite a few games when he wasn't wearing Sox gear, but I don't think it would do any good.
I've had the same desktop wallpaper, just a plain black with the Sox logo in the middle, since spring training. When they got off to a great start and kept on rolling, I didn't dare change it.
When me and my dad were watching the playoffs, we generally stayed in the same room, same spot, through the whole game, save commercial breaks for refreshment/bathroom breaks. Not too weird, until you consider that, if things weren't going well, we'd change spots, even change rooms, because surely that would turn things around.
Oh, and I would have talked about the Sox all through the playoffs, but I forgot to on the first Friday after the playoffs started, and since they were winning...well, I'm sure you can figure out the rest. See you next week.
