Posted by Bob on October 21, 2005: While the right hand man in this week's comic may look kind of familiar, the guy in this week's comic is based on a real guy at EA. Don't remember his name, but I looked up people who worked there to draw into this one. So how I accidentally drew him a week earlier into an entirely unrelated comic I'll never know. I also scanned this before I finished drawing it, somehow. How one missing panel slipped past me...Ugh. So I had to draw one of the panels in Photoshop, something I haven't done in ages. Don't worry, this doesn't mean some sort of radical style change again, I really like the way the comic looks in ink by hand. That's not gonna change.
I would also like to add that I think panel four is one of the best things I've drawn since we started this comic. Why? No idea. I just really like how it turned out.
Speaking of things I've drawn, why don't you check out the characters page? I updated everyone with new artwork, plus added both Retail Avengers and Colossus. These new ones really blow the old ones away, so it's worth a look, I think. And its of course a good page for new readers to check out. Points to anyone who knows what all the album covers are. Well, except for Steve, because I already explained them all to him.
Here's a commercial for LA Rush that made me laugh. I may end up picking this up sometime after it gets really cheap, but until then I'll stick with Burnout Revenge. I gotta get back to that game one of these days...
Wow, if there's anything you can learn from me tonight, it is this: Don't. Fuck. With Eval Kineval.
Not sure how many people here watch Mythbusters, (if you don't, you really should! It's the best show on tv!) but once upon a time they did a test on this: (blatantly stolen from the linked site) "Ancient Greek and Roman historians recorded that during the siege of Syracuse in 212 BC, Archimedes (a notably smart person) constructed a burning glass to set the Roman warships, anchored within bow and arrow range, afire. The story has been much debated and oft dismissed as myth." Well, Mythbusters decided this couldn't be done, which made some MIT people decide to try it too. Here is their results. Pretty neat stuff.
You know, if there's one thing the world doesn't have enough of, it's rubber duck celebrities.
Man, if I ever go on an Austrian vacation, I know exactly where I am staying. And I'll bring Captain with me too, just for the hell of it.
(Captain's my dog, remember?)
Good to see some people have a good sense of humor. I bet that kind of thing wouldn't fly in the states.
Well gang, I don't have any more links this week, mainly because Safari seems dead set against letting me look at videos. The bastards.
