Posted by Bob on September 23, 2005: Well gang, it is with great sadness that I tell you the new comic is up here. Not that I don't like it. Far from it. The sadness is because this is the last comic in our latest mega epic arc. This thing started way back here, on June 24th. Not a bad run for a storyarc, no? This is easily the biggest story we've ever done. Was it worth it? Should we try more big long stories like this? Let us know what you think. I'm dying to know.
Oooh, and the last time Relentless Records was in a comic was on June 17th. Pretty surprising considering how long it took us to get these poor bastards outta the store in the first place, heh.
Let's see...what else. Oh, I finally put some new art up on my site. I know, I know, it took forever. I also changed the layout, which admittedly is not the best. But I don't really care...I just wanted my art up there without having to deal with any html stuff. Don't be surprised if it changes again sometime soon. But, knowing me I probably won't update the stupid thing for months. Cause that's how I roll. BUT. The best way to see new art from me on a regular basis (besides reading the comic, of course,) is to bookmark my Deviant Art page. I update it semi regularly... Like last night I added nine new things. Check out the scraps section too, because I occasionally put things in there too. Someday I'm gonna update my site's image link button. For real and true.
Let's start the real links that people are interested in with something really strange. We have "Whip It" by Devo. Performed by Fifth Graders. I dunno why, but I was frickin' transfixed by this video. Oh, and Steve laid this on me. These guys (Devo, not the fifth graders) have the balls to charge 65 bucks for a show. 65! For Devo! I guess some crazy people would pay it...
Oh, make sure to check out Aikida, because Fenris is running Pepperwood strips until at least Monday. Not that I don't like Aikida. I do, I love Aikida. But I think I actually preferred Pepperwood. So, I think it's cool to see these again. I want to read all the Pepperwood comics one more time, Fenris!
So, I don't know how many wrestling fans we have here, but I'm gonna post this anyway. But first, a very very short backstory. Once upon a time, there was WCW. WCW went from having the highest-rated show on cable television in 1997 to a laughable series that lost 95 percent of its paying audience by 2001. With that in mind, check out this thread that compiles a bunch of quotes from the Wrestling Observer newsletter that shows just why the company went under. Even if you don't follow wrestling, there's definitely gonna be some things in there that will make you laugh. Like this one: "The Demon vs. Vampiro feud was scheduled to go like this. Demon was to be revealed as the Son of the Devil, I swear I'm not making this up, who had turned good because he turned his back on his father. Vampiro would be revealed to have been sent down, or up, however the geography goes, to garner revenge. On the New Years Eve PPV, Demon would toss Vampiro into a vat of holy water, and when he got out, he'd change to a new character" - The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: September 20, 1999. WHY did this company go out of business? No idea!
Here's some man made crop circles. Nothing terribly special, but the last one is just fantastic.
Scare Me. It's apparently a rejected tv show idea. It's more or less people just running up to other people and yelling, scaring them. Sounds stupid, and well, it is. But it made me laugh. So, here you go. The best are the lady in the graveyard and the lady in the bowling alley, easily.
Here's a neat video. The song is...interesting, but the video is worth checking out.
I thought some of the people on American Idol were bad. But this... This can't be real, can it? Well, honestly, I kind of hope it is. I would SO watch that show.
Why? Because I LOVE this stuff. Why? I dunno, I love watching people make an ass of themself. I am the reason that show is still on the air. You can blame me, I'm comfortable with that.
And again, here's a link for Steve.
And finally, I bring you this, a sort of salute to 80's and 90's gaming. It made me laugh, anyhow. So, check it out! Back in a week, suckas!

Posted by Steve on September 23, 2005: As Bob already mentioned, the new comic is here. I too would be interested in what you guys thought of the whole arc. I doubt we'll here from anyone but our few loyal forum regulars, but a guy can dream.
On to some personal gaming news. Xbox can kiss the fattest part of my ass. I just had my second fucking Xbox die on me. In about 3 years time. The first one I let slide, because it went through a period of about 2 years were it was used constantly. (Then again, I've got a top loading NES deck that still runs like a champ.) This last one didn't last a fucking year. Through fairly light use. This one's on an extended warranty (whew!) but I might just see if I can get something else instead. I think I'm done with Xbox.
And a side note to a certain store, with a name that indicates a city full of circuits, your extended service plan, whatever the fuck you want to call it, blows. Not only do I get to ship my warranty covered defective product to you and wait around for a replacement, instead of just taking it to the store that's about 30 seconds from my house and getting a replacement there, there's also a specific carrier you want used? And if I can't print out a shipping label, I get to wait around for you to mail me one, then ship my broken product to you, then wait for you to do something about it? Go fuck yourself.
I feel better now. Oh, I only got in a few games of NHL 2K6 before the Xbox decided on early retirement, but from what I've played, it's the same old same old. I can't score goals in that series for shit on any kind of real difficulty setting, and when I do, it feels more like dumb luck than any actual skill. As if the cpu decided it was time for me to have a goal. I had a lot more fun with the five minute demo of NHL 06. I might pick that up instead.
That's all for now. See you next week.
