Posted by Bob on August 19, 2005: Hey gang, I apologize in advance if this post doesn't live up to my normal standards, but life has been kicking the hell out of me this last week or so. I was diagnosed with Tonsillitis, but a second opinion yeilded the first diagnosis was likely wrong, and the medicine I was prescribed was actually making things worse. I've been at my job for 7 years and I only called in sick twice. As of this writing (Thursday night,) I haven't worked all week. Yuck.
All right, onto the new comic. I changed things a little bit from the script, cause I figured if Bob wasn't tied up, he would have just walked out of the room. Hence the chains. I also take any opportunity I can to draw characters alone in dark rooms because A, I like how it looks, and B, it makes the art go by faster, which I'm all over. One thing about this comic, in the bottom left panel, there's a picture of the Retail Avenger made up like Batman from The Dark Knight Returns. That was actually something I did for the site when we did our most recent redesign, as my plan for the logo was much more blocky, but Steve wanted to stick with the red circle/wings thing. So we did, and I had four logos to do nothing with. That works, I guess, cause looking at them now, the only good one is the Retail Avenger one. Of course, that's the only one that's finished, so that might have something to do with it.
Kinda funny note, when I had to draw Retail Avenger for the other posters, I forgot how the costume looked. I had to go through the archives a bit to reference myself a little. *Sigh* So sad.
So, bear in mind that I've never played World of Warcraft, I don't plan to, I'm not gonna make some silly Think Tank guild for it or anything, (it'd be kinda sad to just have Steve and I running around yelling "We're a guild!" anyway.) That being said, this thread is hilarious. You can skim through the first four posts, but make sure you read post 5 by Faydra. Then some of the ones after that, if you wish.
I know I've posted this before, but it was a long time ago, so the link is probably broken by now. So, here it is again: Leonard Nimoy singing the ballad of Bilbo Baggins!
Well gang, that's really all I've got for now. Hopefully next week I'll be better and be able to come up with a better post. We shall see. Back in a week!
