posted by BobPosted by Bob on February 10, 2005: Hey gang, today's comic is here. This is very much Captain Steve's comic, as I have RE4, and I dig it. So, I will step aside for a minute here to let him talk about the game.

posted by StevePosted by Steve on February 10, 2005: So yeah, I've got RE 4, and I'm less than pleased. It's ok, I just don't think it's worth all the hype it's getting, that's all. I mean location based damage is nice and all, but it was nice back when I first saw it, which was Medal of Honor back on the old Playstation. That was back in...'99, according to the copyright date on the case, and I'm sure Gamer-Wan can find an even earlier instance of it. Sure they do it very well in RE 4, but I'm not sure it's worth all the glowing praise. And while the controls work better with a real 3-D camera angle, again I don't think it's that big a deal.

And while we're on the subject, how come this is the 7,000th Resident Evil game I've seen, yet we're only on #4? I don't know. I guess more than anything else I'm pissed that Capcom has cranked out the same game over and over for the last 9 years, where instead of gameplay that's truely challenging, the difficulty is the awful controls and poor camera angles, and now everyone's falling all over themselves cause they've finally made some real gameplay changes. I don't know, apparently it's just me, cause everyone else seems to like it, including Bob. I think a big problem is that I played, got stomped on about 10 minutes in, and never gave it a real chance since then. Maybe some day I'll go back and give it a real chance. Though, the baseball games start to hit in a few weeks, so that's doubtful. Anyhow, give it a look, since apparently everyone but me is blown away by it.

P.S., this was originally an extremely different comic, but Bob eventually made me realize it was basically a news post, not a comic. But since I don't throw anything out script-wise, I converted it into the current comic.

Oh, Best. Link. Ever. See you next week.

posted by BobPosted by Bob on February 10, 2005:So, yeah. That's what he thinks. I think the game is very much what you would expect from a Resident Evil game. Lots of wandering around with a bad control system while shooting people who can take a fuck ton of bullets before they go down.

So, my first link this week is this movie game. It is relatively hard quiz, but I'm up to 49 out of 72, which I figure is pretty respectable. Give it a shot, then check out the site it came from, Film Wise.

This is kinda stupid, but I think it's funny anyway. I think my favorite is "If we get more snow before this melts, I don't know where the hell we're gonna put it. Here's what I do know, though. If that happens I'm going to kill you, butcher you like a hog and feed my family off you 'till spring comes. No offense."

Creepy, creepy, creepy.

You've probably seen how Michael Jackson has changed over the years, but here's a movie that links all the appearances together. It's really crazy. By the way, if you ever see that VH1 is showing "The Secret Childhood of Michael Jackson," you should check it out. It's really pretty interesting.

Here's a great video called "Owned," so you can assume what it's about since I'm posting it and it's called "Owned," for cod's sake.

Oh yeah, Cod's sake.

Some people will buy anything.

This is great. You have to check out this story, especially if you don't work retail. You can see the kind of crap we have to put up with. I'm especially glad I don't have to work with food.

A flash version of MegaMan? count me in. It's a little slow, but the gameplay is pretty solid. I didn't get terribly far into the game, so I don't know how long of a game it is though.

This has got to be the coolest way to play a video game in the history of video games. Just awesome. I would love to try this. It looks just great.

I ate iPod Shuffle. I love the fact that someone wrote a poem about this.

And now, I will leave you with ten of the stupidest tattoos ever. Back in a week, gang.
