posted by BobPosted by Bob on October 15, 2004: Hey all. This week's comic was one that Steve wrote with two different endings. Only problem is that we both kinda dug both endings, so, instead of picking just one, I made one version of each. The alternate version can be seen here. Actually, the one about the Bulls and the Pistons originally had a different ending, but the more I read it, the less and less sense it made, so Steve and I hashed out a different ending to it. It's for the best, really. I figure we should post both versions because not everyone might know what a "slider" is outside of a White Castle. So, that's that.

So, Amanda showed me this site yesterday, and it's gotta be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Ladies and gentlemen: Spamusement! They're all gold, but I think this one may be my favorite. Though to be fair, they all hold a special place in my cold black heart.

So, there's this. It's like Steve said to me: 'See, here's the funny thing. The record label suits aren't smart enough to go "you know, at worse, we dont budge, walmart goes through with the threat and pulls all their cds, and people go somewhere else for music and we can stop having to deal with fucking walmart.'" And it's so true. It's not like if Wal Mart quits selling cds then people will quit buying music. They'll just go somewhere else. No big deal.

So, this story is probably of no interest to you...It's definately not of any interest to me. I just had to show that one and ask: How bad do you think that guy got made fun of as a kid? What a name.

Here's a tough game for you. Just click the arrows in the direction you want the car to go.

Nice! It turns out elderly people still serve some sort of use, after all. I never would have guessed.

Scrabble is a religion? Man, I'm really scraping the bottom of the internet here. I think I've reached the end.

But whenever I think it's all over, I find things like this. See, it's things like this that make me glad I have had an internet connection for years and years. I have seen so many stupid things like this...and I never get tired of 'em.

Is this a true story? I don't know, that's why I'm asking.

All right, I'm outta stuff to talk about. Back in a week.

posted by StevePosted by Steve on October 15, 2004: This week we're having yet another two for one sale on comics. Two versions of the same comic, plus an inability for us to choose which is better, equals two comics posted.

So, yeah, I've had some issues with ESPN NBA this year. In all fairness, it's a decent game once you get the sliders right, but the fact that I was already working sliders that soon after starting is what got me upset. Also worth noting is that I rented NBA Live, and it's not much better. The slam dunk thing is a nice idea, but to pull off any of the good looking ones takes a series of button presses pulled off with robotic precision. Plus you can't take the Slam Dunk Contest online, which is probably one of the dumbest things I've ever heard. So basically, both games are mediorce, but at least ESPN is half the price and doesn't look like ass. Consider that a review if you'd like.

As for the second comic...well...the Bulls are my team, and they haven't exactly been, you know, good lately. Luckily I have only a marginal interest in basketball anyway (which makes you wonder why the hell I wanted a basketball game in the first place) so it's no big deal.

Oh, one more thing, Paper Mario is awesome. Pay no attention to the bad review from Game Informer. Their opinion on anything has about the same street value as, say, a handful of dirt, or that little twist tie you seal the bread with.

That's all I've got for now. See you next week.
