posted by BobPosted by Bob on September 3, 2004: Today's comic is somewhat true, just in reverse. See, I was the one that was all about KOTOR when it came out, and Steve just recently jumped aboard. So that means we tend to have lots of conversations about the game now. Conversations lead to comics! And here we are.

I don't know if you are familiar with Wizard Magazine or not. It's more or less the biggest magazine in print about comic books. So, imagine my surprise when I opened up the newest issue to see this in the letter column. Pretty cool, eh? So, thanks Gary. You did more to promote the comic with one letter than Steve and I have done in two years.

I know you all know I'm rather big on wrestling games. And with Def Jam Vendetta being a really good one, I've looked up lots of info for the second one. I'd heard a rumor about this for a bit, but now, it seems it is true. The Man is in the game! Awww yeah. Should be good. Oh, Amanda, don't worry. Ghostface Killah is still in the game too.

Here's another clip from the forthcoming Batman cartoon. I'm digging the style, and I like how the fight scene is handled. Not a big fan of Bane's design, but we can't win 'em all. I gotta remember to tape it when it starts...September 11th, early in the morning.

Alien vs. Predator. Freddy vs. Jason. Hitler vs. Stalin! Pretty goofy, yeah. I might have posted this before, I don't know. After 132 comics, most with newsposts, it's kind of hard to keep track of what I've posted.

Well, Kevin Smith said he'd never use Jay and Silent Bob again. Apparently, he has changed his mind. I'm cool with it. I want to se more Kevin Smith stuff like his old movies. I never did get to see Jersey Girl, but I will when it comes out on DVD Tuesday, along with the spectacular looking Clerks X DVD. Best Buy, here I come!

Now this is how a flash game should be done. It's absolutely great. Good luck with Samus; She's far harder than Arthur is.

All right, I think that's all I've got. Back in a week.

posted by StevePosted by Bob on September 3, 2004: I've gotta tell you guys that if you haven't seen The Princess Bride (and if you haven't, see it. Soon.) this week's comic is probably gonna sail right over your head. Also, its worth noting that in real life I'm the one who's just now getting into Knights of the Old Republic, not Bob. But, if I gave the "new to the game" lines to Bob, a recycled punchline turns into a running gag. See how easy it is being the writer? To be honest, I just needed a way to close out the comic, and thought that was just a funny way to wrap things up, but pointing out things like that bugs the shit out of Bob. life has it's little bonuses.

I normally shy away from RPG's, and after briefly playing the game at Bob's house, it didn't do anything for me and I just forgot about it. I finally picked it up recently when it went into the $20 range. And at first, I still didn't get into it. But it's one of those games where if you give it just a little bit of time, it'll have you hooked before you know it. Now I'm generally the type that won't tolerate games where I have to wait for them to be fun, but it's really a short wait on this one. It's really more a matter of getting used to the gameplay/combat system than anything else. Once you do that, this game fuckin rocks. It's like the comic says, the more of a dick I am to everyone, the cheaper my Dark Force Powers are. How sweet is that? Finally I'm getting rewarded for being a prick!

On the new host thing, so far so good. By now the domain name should be pointing to the new host, and you should see "http://screenfreeze.net/index.php" as the address to the main page. (If you don't, click here.) So, all should be back to normal by now, but bear with us if things are still a little goofy.

On to the whole Wizard thing that Bob mentioned. The whole comics thing is more Bob's area than mine. I read them too, but on occasion, and I certainly don't have anywhere near the $150 (a "very conservative estimate" as Bob puts it) a month comic habit he does. That being said, I certainly appreciate the coolness of being able to open up a magazine and see a link to our site in there, so the other night after work I set off to purchase one of these magazines. Unfortunately, it appears that getting a current issue of Wizard is a lot tougher than you'd think. First I checked the book store in the mall. They didn't have the mag at all. No biggie, there's a couple book stores outside the mall. Surely one of them has it. I checked the first place. It's one of those big ass places that have a cafe and shit. There's two fucking aisles of magazines. It's gotta be here, right? Wrong. Just the old issue. I check the place across the street. Two floors of books. Same thing, just the old issue. So, Bob is going to follow the Sherpa guide to the elders that live deep in the mountains or whatever the fuck you've gotta do to get a copy of Wizard, and I'll just get it from him.

Oh, and a special thanks to Gary Willian for that awesome plug. See you guys next week.
