Posted by Bob on July 23, 2004: Hey gang. Today's comic has been split into two parts, so anyone still in the jurassic period of the internet won't have to wait for ten hours for it to download. I saved the comic for the web in Photoshop, and it came out to a really really large file size. So, we decided to split it into two pages. I hope no one minds, cause it's too late now. I changed Jessie a little tiny tiny bit in this one...She's got braided hair now and I made her sheer overshirt blue. Yay.
Monkey walks on hind legs! Crazy people fear that evolution is happening and will cause moneys to overrun the earth! Oh the humanity!
Apparently, that scene in Superman part three where he becomes an evil drunk and busts up a bar is the scene takes straight from reality. Need proof? Read this Oh Superman, you used to be my hero.
Want to play Castlevania for free? Well, without downloading a rom? Here ya go. It's kind of buggy, but still a pretty solid way to waste some time when you should be doing something else. Like writing a newspost for a webcomic's front page. Not to name names or anything, but I'm just sayin'.
Here's a neat little fan film site with a movie about Dick Grayson, aka the first Robin. I don't really know what the deal with all the other DC comics character cameos is, but it still looks really kinda cool to me. I like how as technology prices have dropped, more people have gotten the ablilty to make their own fan movies, cause some of 'em look really cool. I really liked Batman: Dead End, minus the whole Aliens/Predator cameo bit. Overall, it's pretty cool to watch these types of things; they're total labors of love. And like I always say, they can't be any worse than Catwoman.
Yay, game day. Here's another one for all you monkeys. It's pretty fun, and kind of addictive.
I didn't mention it last week, cause I wanted to get some more time in with it before I talked about it, but I just recently got a new computer. It's a 1.25 ghz eMac, (Apple, of course) and it is so lightning fast I don't even know where to start. On my old iBook, when I would rip a cd to mp3, it'd take like, 20-30 minutes. On the emac, it takes like, five. When you click a program's icon in the dock, it bounces until the program opens. On the iBook, it'd take like, ten bounces of Photoshop's icon before it opened. On the eMac? It's ready to go in three. What I was most excited about is the resolution. I've been working on an 800x600 resolution for years on the iBook, so to go to an eMac with a 1280x960 res is like some sort of revelation from the heavens. And setting this puppy up was the easiest thing I've ever done. The computer came, and I was anticipating spending the majority of the day installing tons of programs and setting everything up just the way I wanted it. When I turned it on, I was asked if I already had a Mac, and I clicked yes. Then, I was instructed to plug the old computer into the new one via a firewire cable. I did that, and then it transferred everything from the old one to the new one. My new computer was up and running in just under ten minutes. All I had to do was reinstall the Wacom Tablet and my Mouse drivers. It was a very simple experience to say the least. I guess the point of the whole story is just that you should all buy a Mac, cause they are incredible pieces of work.
All right, I think that's all I have to say. I spent yesterday at Great America, and it rained a little bit. I come back home, and it looks like the neighborhood has gone through some sort of Armageddon, as apparently it was hit by a "microburst," which is more or less a tornado without the funnel cloud. It's not the first time it has happened; seven years ago, the tree in our front yard was taken down by one, and in the process smashed my brothers brand new truck (when he went back home that day, the insurance info for the truck had just arrived in the mail that day) and almost smashed my house. Anyway, we got another one of those last night, so I am sitting here in a house with no power (we've got a generator, so at least I've got the internet!) which means no air conditioning, which sucks, because I can not handle heat, and it's really kinda hot. It's gotten better now than it was earlier today, which is good. But still, it really is for sucks. And with that, I'll be back in a week.

Posted by Steve on July 23, 2004: So, we've got that new comic smell coming from this direction. Maybe you guys should check it out.
While we've got a fairly respectable reputation for updating around here, this week's comic might be a problem. We just got power back after a nasty storm, and cable (and with it, my internet access) is still out. So, short of walking the little packets of information over to the server, there's no way of knowing when this will get updated. There's an emergency plan in place where I can eventually upload things from (*shock*) dial up, but that won't happen until late Friday night. So, whenever this eventually gets uploaded, sorry for being late, but there's not much I can do on this one. Unless Bob has internet access and did the update himself. Although, if he did that, there's a pretty good chance that he fucked up and didn't save a backup before he did it, in which case everything probably looks like shit right now. If that's the case, sorry again.
One more thing. Due to the comic being huge in terms of file size, we split it into two comics. Although, you probably figured that out by yourself. Anyway, see you next week.
