posted by BobPosted by Bob on July 9, 2004: While it may look like today's comic is the beginning of an arc, as far as I know, it is just a one shot deal. The funny thing about this comic is that it is quite old. Steve wrote this in (I believe) May of 2002. We were already a few comics ahead at the time, if I recall correctly. See, Steve used to write like, seven comics ahead of time and send em to me. I think it was because we were still kind of new at this, and we were not sure how long it would take to make the comic. Or, maybe it was because he knew he had the quicker part of this job and just liked to rub it in my face. Anywho, I finished all the comics that were written before this one, and so I started to draw it, thinking it would be the next comic. I got about halfway through, and Steve said "You know, lets hold off on this comic because Spider-Man is kinda old at this point. Maybe we can do it another time. Oh, and I'm the stupidest person ever." So, I cursed his name, and moved on to draw another comic. Luckily, (or maybe not,) I saved the original art from this comic from way back when. I didn't finish drawing it-there is no last panel, and Steve is completely absent in one panel. It's just the pencil stage, so things like Bob's melting face in panel three would have been (likely) cleaned up. Anyway, the old version can be seen here, for better or worse. Don't say I didn't warn you!

The trailer for Resident Evil 2 is up. I want to see it. I liked the first one-It wasn't anything great, but it was one of those movies where you sit down not expecting too much, and you'll have a good time. And besides, it's got Michelle Rodriguez, so that got me in for sure. Though she's not in two, I'd still like to see it. Milla Jovovich is in it still...maybe Amanda will want to see it too...hmmm...

Spider-Man rules, as does Lego. So, why not combine the two? Spider-Man Lego! Whoever made that movie (I know there's credits, but I closed the window before reading them all, so I don't remember the names) is a freakin' genius. I'd love to see what they could do with more Legos and a huge budget and a bigger team working on it...How cool would it be to make a full length movie like this? I'd pay to see it, that's for sure.

Want to see Glenn Danzig get "PWNED," as the interweb kids say? First, read this thread to get the backstory. Then, click here to watch the video. That's great, I always love to see people get cheap shots thrown in on em. My boss told me that sometimes he thinks my moral barometer is a bit outta whack...I wonder if he's right?

I know I said I was gonna talk about Spider-Man 2 this week, but I don't feel like putting out a whole big review like I normally would. So, I'm gonna make it quick. The movie freakin' rocks. It is so much better than the first. I think it may have surpassed X-Men 2 in terms of my favorite comic book movie, but I may be a bit biased because I am more of a Spidey fan than an X-Men fan to begin with. But back to the movie. Tobey did a better job in this one than the last one, but I still feel like he kinda sounds sleepy all the time. Alfred Mollina freakin' rocked as Doctor Octopus. He was just awesome. I hope he makes another appearance in a future movie. Even Willem Dafoe makes a cameo in this one, and we all know I likes me some Willem Dafoe, (Speed 2 excluded.) So, without wasting a ton of words, All I'm gonna say is that you need to go see this one. Soon.

I've been working on my website a little lately. I'm almost ready to unleash my creation on the web, but there's still a few things here and there I want to get to before I fully show it off. Hopefully, I'll have it up and running next week. Don't hold me to it for sure though. There's some new art up there that noone (well, besides maybe Amanda) has seen before, and a new layout and look from me. I actually did all the html by hand, so I'm pretty happy with it. Watch this page for more info!

It's not a good idea to eat a whole bag of Gummi Savers all at once. I did, and it feels like a wolverine is clawing his way through my lower intestines. Which, suffice it to say, isn't the most pleasant feeling in the world. Unless these things kill me, I'll be back in seven.

posted by StevePosted by Steve on July 9, 2004: No, this week's comic is not a precursor to another story arc. Although, like I told Bob once, don't you think we have enough continuity in our comics that it's not even worth noting what's an arc and what's not? Whatever, that's not really important. Truth be told, this comic has been in the script file forever. Bob even started some of the art for it, but it got pushed aside for something else, which I can't remember now, and we just never got back to it. Anyway, with the new Spidey flick out, we figured now was as good a time as any.

Speaking of which, the new Spider-Man game is really cool. I was gonna get into this with a more lengthy write-up, but work is once again kicking my ass, so maybe next time. Overall it's a solid game worth picking up, although I think I'm ready for another Spidey game that doesn't follow a movie story. Anyway, see you next week.
