Posted by Bob on April 30, 2004: Hey all. This marks the first of (hopefully) a few comics in a row that I wrote. Steve is very much a good writer. I, on the other hand, am not as strong in that field. Steve writes like Kevin Smith; He doesn't care how the thing turns out, just so long as the characters say his words. Being the artist of the comic, I think I can come up with good comics when I write them, because as I write it, I can picture how I want the whole thing to look, or I can write a scene that describes what I've got in my head. Like this comic, I wrote the entire comic based around the big fourth panel, cause I thought that was funny, and I wanted to use it somehow. I knew I wanted people behind a fence, concentration camp style. Why one of them is doing the robot, however, is something I still can't tell. Anyway, the problem is, I don't write good punchlines. I can come up with good ideas, but I can never come up with good ways to resolve those ideas. As Steve said, my written scripts when I send them to him usually work out like this: "Reference to new game, news item, or philosophical concept. Supporting details. Harsh invective. Witty response. Steve thinks of something funny." That's pretty much the way it works out. (I haven't seen Steve's post, so forgive me if this is a repeat of something he said already.) Although this week, it turns out the entire comic is all me. I wrote something, then Steve wrote something else, which is what we were going to go with, then a few minutes ago, Steve said to go with my original idea. Weird how that works. Other site news, I'm still going through the archives adding new comments to old comics. I'm up to number twenty, I think.
All right, lets go for some links. How about Growl karaoke? It combines two of my favorite things: Karaoke and power barking. Aaaww yeah.
If there's one thing to know about me, it's that I am not a Star Trek or Star Wars fan. Being that this is an online comic however, I'm sure someone reading this probably likes one of 'em, so here's a couple links for ya...Which captain is better? Is it Jean Luc Picard? Or is it good ol' Captain Kirk? Doesn't matter to me, cause all I know is that I can't get the song out of my head.
The one thing this world needs is more superheroes. And god love em, these guys know that as well as I do. Only difference? I'm not whacked out enough to go out and do crap like that. Talk to me in a couple years, maybe.
Well, that's really all I've got in me this week. Sorry for the short post, but I've been at this computer most of the day, and frankly, I'm quite tired of typing. back in seven.
