Posted by Bob on February 27, 2004: Hey all. Steve tells me he's uploading my new wallpaper to the site this week. Since I don't know the place he's storing it, I can't link to it, but I'm sure Steve did. Anyway, I figured Retail Avenger needed his own wallpaper; just because. I think it turned out pretty well, and I changed the costume a little tiny bit. The head wings are gone, and the R on the forehead was bulked up. I hope you dig it, cause I think it turned out pretty well.
First things first: Never fly a kite again. For real. That is seriously messed up. Seven people dead cause of kites? Screw that. Add another reason to the list of reasons why I never go outside in the summer. Outside. *shudder* There's bears outside.
Okay, so that rules out outside. But that doesn't rule out sports. This story, on the other hand, totally rules out sports. Granted, something like that wouldn't happen in say, basketball or hockey, but I develop strange biases. I won't eat any mushrooms because some of them grow in cow shit. Maybe it doesn't make the most sense, but it works for me. I guess, based on this, that a career as an athlete is not in the cards. You'd think the total lack of athletic ability would have nailed it down before, but there it is.
So, Steve tells me I need to talk about the Rollins show last week, since I mentioned it in my post. Short review: Great.
Okay, so maybe I an elaborate on that. If you've never had the opportunity to see Rollins live, do so if he ever comes to town. Just don't talk while he's talking. He almost threw some idiot out cause he would just not shut the hell up. Anyhow, Henry's shows are usually a little over three hours, so make sure to get there early so you get a chair. This time, I was in the second row. I'm not blessed with a high vertical jump, nor do I have a far leap. But man, if I had jumped foward, I would have been on the floor, cause Henry woulda just decked me, I was that close. I have almost all of his spoken word albums, all of the DVDs and I've seen him live once before, and this was one of the best sets I've heard from the man. He's in the middle of a great tour now, make sure you don't miss it.
