Posted by Steve on February 20, 2004: New comic here. You see, this is pretty much what happens when Bob starts to write a comic. He gets a good idea to start things off, and then things just go to hell. Sometimes he just loses interest in the middle and goes "and then something happens from there". Sometimes he gets to the end, can't think of how to finish things, and just has someone commit some act of violence against someone else. And sometimes, he wants Robocop in the comic for no good reason.
So, I talked about the new Metroid last week, saying that it was pretty cool and all. Well, I finished it, and I'd like to add that, while it is pretty cool, it's also pretty short. My first clear time was about 4 hours, and that seems to be about the normal time for a first run through. There's a couple reasons for that. One is that there's not only a map system, but a little blinking light that keeps showing you were to go next, and unlike in Metroid Prime, you can't turn it off. The other reason is that it's way to easy. Like, (minor spoilers coming...I guess.) you know how you beat Ridley? You stand in one spot and just keep shooting missles. No dodging, no running, just stand there and keep shooting. That's it. Now, there is a hard mode, but that's pretty much worthless since you have to finish the game first to unlock it. How stupid is that? Hard difficulty isn't a reward, it's something you make available at the start, especially in a series like Metroid. It's still worth getting though, although I won't blame you if you wait until the price goes down a bit.
This is the spot in the news post where I was going to talk about baseball, but I'm not in the mood anymore, so just pretend I told you that Boston screwed itself by not pulling the trigger on the A-rod deal when they had the chance, especially over what even known Red Sox backer Peter Gammons described as "chump change" in baseball terms.
And I think I'll leave you with this. See you next week.

Posted by Bob on February 20, 2004: Hey all. By the time you read this, I might be at the theater...in the presence of the almighty... That's right. Rollins on Friday. Envy me.
So, apparently, scientists are idiots. A family of feral people was discovered in Africa, and of course, they step in to study them and rehab them into a "normal" lifestyle. Umm, excuse me, weren't they alrady living a normal lifestyle? Their lives are considered normal to them, they've lived that way forever. That's normal. WHY do these people feel the need to force their views of "normalcy" upon others who, in all likelyhood, don't want or need any of it? Sheesh. But I guess there's a picture of them out. Here's the Ferel family.
Well, it turns out I have a lot in common with Canada. Yep, it turns out we both hate Conan O'Brien! Ahh, Canada. Always good for a laugh.
Now, I hate to have to link to Ain't it Cool News (I even used italics, that should show you my feelings on it) but I have to throw this link out. So, apparently, George Lucas wasn't happy with the Indiana Jones 4 script. Ok, maybe I can see that. Now, here's the rub. GEORGE LUCAS is going to do the rewrite. As if ruining Star Wars wasn't bad enough, he's gonna piss on INDY now? Ugh. If I see a dancing, singing crocodile with a bad accent, I'm gonna be pissed. (There's the italics again!)
How's about some comic book movie news? Start things off with a little Iron Fist. How about a little bit from the Punisher? There it is. And one more, you ask? Okay, here's some Batman news, with a little bit of a followup and correction on that here. See? You ask, and I provide.
Apparently, I have a love/hate relationship with Amanda. I love her, and she hates me. Want proof? Okay sucker, here you are. Why she sends me these things, I couldn't tell you. But damn it, she does. Want more proof? Here's another pic of Pedo Pan. Sweet dreams.
